How did you rectify the mistake?
Gave it up after one year and moved back to my house
The lessons learnt?
Less work can actually mean more profit.
Is it getting harder or easier to make a decent living?
It is so much harder purely because the market is so over saturated.
How do you stay ahead of the game?
Training and investment. Use social media, and I have a great website.
How do organisations such as The Societies of Photographers help?
Some organisations are a total waste of time with large membership fees and very little in return. The Societies offer great value for their membership fees with something for all genres of photography, their monthly competitions, their superb magazine, their mini conventions all around the country and of course the amazing CONVENTION in London in January
Why is The Societies of Photographers Convention such a big deal for photographers?
It is pure and simply Photographers Heaven. Whether you are just thinking of becoming a photographer, a hobbyist, camera club member, semi pro or pro there really is something at the convention for everyone.
Is it primarily about the chance to learn from the experiences of imaging icons?
Yes I think it is, but also being able to watch the 20 x16 judging and meeting up with photographers from all over the world.
Your own mentors (living or dead)?
Gordon McGowan, Trevor and Faye Yerbury, Kevin Wilson and of course Damian McGillicuddy all unique with their own styles, masters in their art.
Who today is leading the way in creative social photography and why?
Asian photographers are by far the more creative photographers at the moment.
