You've undoubtedly read about The Click Group in these pages before, either as the largest group of independent portrait photographers in the country, or as the provider of leading business management software The Photographic Organiser - TPO for short. MD Charlie Kaufman, a photographer himself, also regularly holds seminars as part of The Societies' programme of Digital Roadshows, and naturally will also be exhibiting at the Convention this January.
But there is a further, newer string to Click's proverbial bow - and that comes in the shape of innovative photographic backgrounds. Logically christened 'Click Backgrounds', these are currently going down a storm with members of The Societies; so much so that selling backgrounds currently makes up around a third of Click's business. They've even been nominated for 'Best Photographic Product' at The Societies' annual awards this year.
At the Convention it's promised that the company's 40 square metre stand will have two thirds dedicated to props and the remainder to its 'Bump 2 Baby' portrait photography programme, for which it is also inviting interested parties to sign up. In return you'll receive business leads and marketing tools; all geared toward helping you make more money!
"The backgrounds were launched in October last year and so far we've sold over 1,000; demand has just exploded. Every quarter we've brought out new backgrounds so we've had four new ranges - the most recent being October just gone, where we brought out 40 new designs."
Kaufman adds that a respectably large amount of Click Props business is repeat business from already satisfied customers finding their backgrounds something of 'a godsend'. As to what makes the backgrounds different from all the others that are commercially available, he flags up the quality and the finish, the presentation, plus the range of available styles. Another difference is the unique hanging mechanism.
