SEE THE BEATLES ON PTO IN EGYPT

An exciting addition to the already stunning line-up of speakers for PTO in Egypt, 27 January – 3 February 2009 is the enigmatic Tom Murray who will deliver an evening seminar of great interest to photographers and lovers of 60’s music.

2008 is the 40th Anniversary of the “MAD DAY OF SUMMER ’68″ collections. Tom’s photographs of the Beatles are considered the very best colour images from that day and are included in many permanent collections around the world for example: The Museum of London, The Radio and Television Museum in Los Angeles and in the private collections of Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. They have also appeared in exhibitions in many parts of the USA and Japan.

Tom is the holder of many international awards for his photography which include newspaper assignments, theatre, advertising and specialist portrait commissions both in the UK and overseas. He has photographed innumerable celebrities, film stars and Royalty.

He has worked with many of the world’s greatest photographers – Eve Arnold, Helmut Newton, Lord Snowden, Norman Parkinson, Bill King, Bill Connors, Sarah Moon, Guy Bourdin, Clive Arrowsmith, and Norman Eales to name but a few.

After 50 years behind the lens, with a career that started as a press photographer using plate cameras and concluding in the digital age Tom will recall the past, the present and look into the future. He is very proud to be able to bring examples of his work to PTO 2009, along with many anecdotes of his working career which will be light hearted informative and guaranteed to keep delegates amused and awake after a hard day of workshops in the heat of the Egyptian Sun.

In addition to Tom other evening seminar speakers include entrepreneur Phil Jones CEO of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers who will major on the best use of your website by providing information on how to ensure search engines generate leads. No matter which photography search engine you log onto you will invariably come up with the SWPP website!

Then we have Patrick Ciatto and American from Florida who started his working career in the medical profession becoming a specialist in eye photography, he later met up with Jane Connor-Ziser to form a partnership offering social photography and digital enhancement skills. Patrick will demonstrate and talk about the almost lost art of lighting and posing for classical portraiture.

The ever popular Print Competition will kick the week off when selected speakers constructively critique delegates submitted images with short listed winners receiving accolades and stunning prizes at the end of week Gala Awards event.

Workshop speakers are: Charlie Waite – the doyen of Landscape photographers. Paul Callaghan one of Ireland’s finest wedding “Fellows”. Jim Lowe an expert on architectural photography. Lies Davidse a lady with plenty of Dutch courage and skillful modern portrait techniques. Kelly Hearn UK wedding photographer of the year – a funky and quirky image maker. Lesley Wood the new kid on the block for child portraits from the Annabel Williams stable. Jane Connor-Ziser from Florida demonstrating extraordinary digital retouching skills – courtesy of the SWPP and Dave Wall a master of digital workflow and Light room techniques.
