Photo guru Mark Cleghorn’s mission to make high quality photographic training ‘affordable and easily accessible to all’ got off to a flying start at Focus.
Hundreds of professional and amateur photographers signed up at the official launch of the pioneering online training site: Phototraining4U.com.
Said Cleghorn: “We smashed all our targets. The response has been amazing. We ran special seminars every 45 minutes with a minimum of 70 people in attendance at each one. And we had hundreds signing up to register with the new website.”
For £199 a year (including VAT) photographers can access scores of specialist training videos covering all aspects of photography including; camera lighting, software techniques and application, business ideas, tips and tricks of the trade and constantly updated new kit reviews. Training themes are based on member requests.
Now, in a new move, Cleghorn has negotiated a spring deal with onOne Software.
He explained; “Photographers signing up between now and the end of April will stand to pick up £120 worth of PhotoTools plug-in software free of charge.
But this is a limited offer while stocks last, so it’s first come, first served.”
Gatwick-based photographer Lee Crawley was one of the first to sign up to Phototraining4U at Focus.
He said: “I was set to shoot my very first wedding a few days after the show – and I was quite apprehensive. But I watched several Cleghorn tutorials and they gave me oodles of confidence. This man has real talent and many years experience at the top of his profession – and this new training site is a great idea. When you’re sitting in a hotel at 11pm with a wedding to shoot the next day and you need some immediate help, you can’t rush out and buy a DVD – but you can go online.
This deal enables me to dip in and out of the site whenever I want to access a mother lode of knowledge at the click of a mouse.
I could wander into a camera shop and spend a couple of hundred pounds in no time on bags and tripods – but the real thing you need access to is knowledge.”
Cardiff-based Mark Cleghorn, who holds four industry Fellowships and has hundreds of photo-awards to his name, including 17 coveted Kodak Gold Awards, has spent
months developing the Phototraining4U.com site – the first of its kind outside the US.
New training themes will be added each week and key imaging companies are being lined up to work with the programme.
