The Societies’ Photographer of the Year 2016 – Judging Complete

The final judging of the year to find The Societies’ Photographer of the Year 2016 has now been competed.

The 26 category winners were chosen from all the Gold Awards and Highly Commended Upgrades from 2016. After this all the category winners were put forward to The Societies’ Photographer of the Year 2016 Award.

This year we have seen a bumper crop of images and the judges have assessed 10,468 images that have been entered in to the Monthly Image Competition.

The category winners and The Societies’ Photographer of the Year 2016 will be announced at the Awards Dinner during the 2017 London Photo Convention.

We would like to take this time to thank all the members that have submitted images over the course of the year and to all our judges who have given their time.

The final judging of the year to find The Societies’ Photographer of the Year 2015 has now been competed.

Last chance to pre-register for The Societies’ 2015 London Photo Convention

The ‘big guns’ of the photo industry are gearing up for the 2015 Photo Trade Show in January.

Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, Fujifilm, Manfrotto, Elinchrom, Adobe, Epson and Bowens are just some of the leading companies lined up to show their products at The Societies’ London Convention and Trade Show.

To date bookings have been flooding in with attendees eager to see what is on offer and to build their ‘wish list’ of gear for their upcoming year.

The Societies’ CEO Phil Jones says ‘This is a great opportunity to be the first to see new products and services on offer from major manufacturers in the photographic industry. The Trade Show also offers attendees a comprehensive schedule of live demonstrations and lectures which makes it a must for those who are serious about their photography’.

Photographers planning to visit the biggest photographic Convention ever held in Europe, can still access the Trade Show element of the London-based event free of charge, if they pre-register before 31 December 2014.

We invite entries into this month’s competition that show true creativity in digital art and manipulation. There is no set topic so you can choose your own subject matter; just simply let your creative juices flow.

Spectacular landscapes

This month we invite entries that depict incredible vistas; these may be a mountain range, seascapes or cityscapes.

Street Action

Street photography is an ever popular subject which captures the daily activates of the streets which we journey along. This month’s competition we are looking for images with strong clear narratives, so images of people engrossed in an activity is encouraged.

Under 5s

In this months competition we invite images of adorable children and babies. The portraits may be taken environmentally or in a studio.
