2014 London Photo ConventionSince the announcement that Focus on Imaging is no more, the indications are that The Societies’ London Photography Convention and Trade Show is set to be the largest event of its kind in the Europe for 2014.

To date thousands of professional and aspiring photographers have booked to attend the January event, which is being supported by the majority of the leading photographic companies in the UK including: Canon, Olympus, Adobe, OnOne Software, Loxley Colour, Bowens, Fuji Film, Graphistudio, Lastolite and Lowepro to name but a few.

Due to the high-demand for trade exhibition space, we have now extended the Trade Show area to include the fourth floor foyer.

Bowens Confirm Sponsorship of The Societies’ 2014 20×16″ Print Competition

Changes to the 2014 Convention Masterclass Schedule

2014 London Photo ConventionWe have just had to make some slight changes to the Friday and Saturday Masterclass schedule for the 2014 Convention.

Melissa Love’s Masterclasses have now swapped and her “Mastering WordPress and The Art Of Blogging” Masterclass will now be on Friday 17th Jan 2014 (16.00 to 17.30) in the Westminster Suite, with her “Designing You Into Your Business Branding for Photographers” Masterclass on in the Hilton Meetings 5 -6 on Saturday 18th Jan 2014 (15.30 to 17.00)

Michael Shilling’s Masterclass “Blogging Where to start and What Tools to use” is now on in the  Park Suite at 13.30 to 15.00 on Saturday 18th Jan 2014.

And finally, David Stanbury’s Masterclass “Confessions Of A Wedding Photographer” has moved to Hilton Meetings 1-2 at 15.30 to 17.00 on Saturday 18th Jan 2014.

South West England photographers brave the storm to attend The Digital Imaging Show


Despite the adverse weather conditions, over 100 photographers attended The Digital Imaging Show in Exeter today.

Lectures were held by Damien Lovegrove, Charlie Kaufman and Kevin Mullins on a range of photographic topics from lighting to SEO. On display at the trade show were a range of album manufacturers, photographic props and paper manufactures to name a few.

We would like to welcome the 3 new members who joined up at the show and hope you enjoy our benefits.

Next stop, the Jersey Photography Convention and then on to The Digital Imaging Show in Southampton. We look forward to welcoming more photographers to our events over the next few weeks.

John Denton wowed delegates at the annual Malta Institute of Professional Photography (MIPP) Convention in collaboration with The Societies.

International front-line photojournalist Heidi Levine and Podge Kelly also spoke at the Convention.

The Convention was completed with the Societies’ Maltese Image Competition and Awards Evening.

Robert Mifsud, was awarded The Societies’ Maltese Image Competition winner and received a Super Big Deal Ticket to the The Societies’ 2014 Convention.

Richard P Walton confirms The Societies’ 2014 Convention Superclass

Richard P Walton FSWPP has just confirmed that he will be hosting a Superclass at the 2014 Convention entitled ‘Wedding Photography for Today’s Generation’ .

Richard says, “It’s going to be a jam-packed Superclass covering everything from natural light, off-camera lighting, posing, composition and most of all having fun with the couple and creating something unique.”

Tickets to this hands-on class are limited to just 15 delegates and will sell fast.

More prizes added to the Societies’ Student Photographer of the Year Competition

We are happy to announce that on top of the Societies one years’ subscription, 2014 Convention Big Deal Ticket, £250 Loxley Colour voucher and £250 Aspire Photography Training voucher we have also received prizes from, datacolor and Light Blue Software. will be awarding the Societies’ Student Photographer of the Year 1 years subscription to their online web solutions for photographers.

Yesterday was a busy day at the National Motorcycle Museum for the Solihull Digital Imaging Show.

Photographers were eager to attend the 3 Masterclasses from leading photographic lecturers Damien Lovegrove, Catherine Connor and Charlie Kaufman.

On show was a range of albums manufactures, photographic paper, specialist insurance, the latest products from photographic labs and the popular range of Click Props.

The next Digital Imaging Roadshow is in the Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting Centre, Exeter on the 28th October.
