Destroying the Myths and Extreme Wedding Photography (Masterclass)
Through attending several seminars over the years I've found that the same
questions are being asked to the speakers again and again. I've been in this
industry for 5 years and have built up a steady business shooting 35-40 weddings
a year and over that time I've made many mistakes and learn't whats important
and whats not important about wedding photography. For a while I believed that
the equipment was the most important thing to get right, spending lots of money
having the latest gear.
Also I would not be too bothered about getting it 'right' in camera and would
try to save it in photoshop. After a few years I found that the most essential
things with wedding photography is pose, composition and lighting.
I would now rather spend money on training rather than new equipment. In the
talk I want to disscuss what equipment you 'need'. The arguement between raw and
jpg, with a demonstration of using Lightroom to edit the raws from a wedding. I
want to try and have a good queston and answer session and try and destroy some
of the myths and not have everyone asking the same questions over and over in
the other seminars.
Working with Richard Walton has been an inspiration to me, he will do whatever
he needs to get that picture in the camera. Thats why I want to incorporate the
'Extreme Wedding Photographer' into my talk. Richard started out as an assistant
on the weddings but has now become and essential part of my wedding photography.
We will show a selection of photos taken in odd situations and show how they are
taken, with a discussion to follow, making sure Uncle Bob would never get the
same as us.
The SWPP 2008 Convention was an outstanding success,
we have 138 days to get ready for the 2009 convention - which starts on January 14, 2009
