Jeff Ascough

Jeff Ascough, one of Canon's prestigious "Ambassadors" will be Co presenting a Canon 5DMKII masterclass with David Newton (CPN) which will include:

Canon 5DMKII - Changing Wedding & Studio Photography
How to use HD Video in Wedding & Studio Photography situations
Wifi - How this can change your shooting

In contrast to the intrusive and predictable style of traditional wedding photography, Jeff employs what he describes as “a combination
of social documentary and photo journalism”, inspired by the work of such greats as Robert Frank and Sebastião Salgado.

It’s an approach that has seen him win hundreds of awards around the world and make consistent appearances on lists of the best wedding
photographers. In 2007, he was the only European to feature in American Photo’s Top 10.

Unlike some photographers, Jeff has welcomed the transition to digital. And – between his busy photographic schedule, shooting ‘ordinary’
ceremonies as well as the weddings of celebrities, such as England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen and Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien – has
even found time to develop his own Photoshop Actions software, which is now used by many other top photographers.

Timings agreed as follows:

Friday 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the Pomerol
Saturday 11.00pm to 1.00pm in the Sancerre
Sunday 10.30am to 12.30pm in the Graves

The SWPP 2009 Convention was an outstanding success,
we have 194 days to get ready for the 2010 convention - which starts on January 14, 2010

Photo Quote: At forty-two I decided to become a photographer because it offered a means of creative thought and action. I didn't rationalize this, I just felt it intuitively and followed my intuition, which I have never regretted. - Wynn Bullock
