Dennis Orchard
Dennis started his career as a Landscape Photographer, travelling
across Europe with a 5x4 plate camera. In 1985 he moved into Editorial
Photography
and worked for The Daily Telegraph Colour Library. He now combines the
skills learned in both disciplines into what he terms as “Lifestyle
Wedding Photography”
“Lifestyle Photography is about people in natural situations. It
combines the best of photojournalistic imagery with stylised settings to
produce strong, dynamic pictures. Couples are not over posed in a
“Strictly Ballroom” way, but are encouraged to react together, bringing
out their own unique individuality.”
This approach has earned him many awards, including “Associate” of all
the major UK photographic organizations, plus…
“UK Wedding Photographer of the Year”,
“International Wedding Photojournalism Print of the Year”,
&
the highest Accolade offered by the American organisation WPPI
“Accolade of Lifetimes Photographic Excellence”
He lectures in the UK and America on all aspects of Contemporary British
Wedding Photography.
Despite this, Dennis likes nothing better than a night in at home, with
his wife & children, watching TV. He considers humour to be his best
characteristic.
Dennis Orchard has an Exhibition here.
