Helen England has an Exhibition here. Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: My style of photography is very relaxed and contemporary. My aim is to document weddings as they happen, including the detail, emotion, fun and laughter, creating an amazing story of the day. My emphasis is on informal reportage, or ‘natural’ photography, with a small amount of time allowed for a few formal group shots. By blending into the background and creating the minimum amount of fuss, I ensure that the presence of a wedding photographer does not dominate the day, allowing everyone to be free to enjoy it. My greatest strengths: I am organised, polite, and unobtrusive. I work in a friendly, discreet manner and I always try to capture those special moments that may otherwise go unnoticed. I have been in photography: I have been a photographer for 14 years. How I got started in photography: For as long as I can remember I have always loved taking photographs! I have been passionate about photography for many years and could always be found with my camera in hand. Whether at home growing up, or on my travels around the world, I have taken many photographs from a young age. Looking to turn my passion into my profession, I graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2002 with an honours degree in photography. I also have a professional diploma in photography gained while working as a photographer for Venture, the UK's leading portrait studios. My photographic skills: I provide a friendly and personal service with great results. I capture all of the wonderful memories, emotion, detail, and special moments, providing each couple with a beautiful reminder of their wedding day. I keep my photography very relaxed and informal, creating the minimum amount of fuss. I try to keep the group photographs as simple as possible so that everyone is then free to get on with enjoying the day. I meet with every couple before the wedding to discuss individual requirements and will often visit the venue with the couple to review the photographic opportunities it offers. This is an invaluable opportunity to discuss individual requirements and finalise exactly what will happen on the big day. My personality: Friendly, fun, personable, caring, creative. Geographic areas I cover: Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Tonbridge, Kent & the South East Venues I frequently attend: Lympne Castle, Salomons, West Heath, Tonbridge Castle, The Spa Hotel, Leeds Castle, The Archbishops Palace, Turkey Mill, The Little Silver Country Hotel. I found inspiration from: Visiting venues always gives me inspiration. I like to visit the venue about a month before the wedding and have a good look around with the couple so that we can go thorough all of our ideas together. Just seeing all of the different features at a venue gives me plenty of inspiration for the big day. Couples will often have ideas as well so I can be inspired by the bride & groom too. On the day I am always inspired by what the bride & groom are wearing and also by the weather! For example if it’s windy I’ll use it to my advantage and get some lovely shots of the veil blowing in the wind, if it’s raining ill get some cool shots with umbrellas or the bride & groom in their wellies! I have to because I love eating out and trying new food! I also play the piano and enjoy watching Spooks, Waking the Dead and Silent Witness. Future plans: One day maybe I will have a studio, or a team of photographers working for me who I will have trained. But I don't want to lose the personal touch of what I do, so I'm not sure.
