Ian MacKey has an Exhibition here. Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: is a mixture of traditional, contemporary and reportage for weddings. For portraits it is either contemporary or traditional. On both a combination of these can be achieved too. My greatest strengths: are being organised, attention to detail, professional, reliable, outstanding customer service, flexible, and able to build rapport quickly with people. I have been in photography: photographing seriously for around 7 years and have been interested in photography since aged 7! Business really took off in 2006. How I got started in photography: I was fascinated by cameras as a youngster and had a small long thin 110 camera followed by a 'disc camera’. I loved to snap away over the years and then I purchased a quality 35mm Canon film camera in 2001 when my daughter was born. I set out to create canvas style images and large prints. I then progressed with the film camera taking pictures for friends/family etc. I later invested in a course with Len Bateman, and bought second hand equipment from a retiring photographer locally and then used digital technology to develop my skills and the business. I then concentrated on getting the business working as a full time business and went fully digital in 2006. My photographic skills: not missing those special moments and attention to detail. Other key skills are that I am great with people, good at organising things, known for 'getting the job done', attention to detail and having a fantastic memory for names faces and events. My personality: can be quiet at times, adventurous, sense of humour, playful, professional and reliable. Honest and known for getting the job done! True to my word and prepared to work hard. I like goals and targets to aim for. Geographic areas I cover: Oswestry based but cover the whole of Shropshire, Wrexham, Chester and parts of North Wales. Parts of Staffordshire and into the Midlands. Venues I frequently attend: Lion Quays, Llyndir Hall Hotel, Wrexham, Whittington Castle, Lake Vyrnwy Hotel I found inspiration from: successful people, people who have also overcome adversity and are making a difference to society. Inspirational photographers I have seen/met are Mark Cleghorn, Jerry Ghionis and Len Bateman. I am inspired by most sportsmen who are at the top of their game and also business people who have done fantastically well. Success in photography: starting a business from scratch! Absolutely nothing at all, including no portfolio images or anything! No awards YET!! Photographic training: B&W course at Yale College Wrexham and partial completion of City & Guilds Photography due to a change in the qualification process/syllabus part way through the course. My interests outside photography: most sport including football and golf. Both watching and playing. Music, travel, health & fitness. Computers and films.
