I am an internationally published photographer mainly in the field of motor sports. I am looking to expand my knowledge of photography and develop more of a personal style if I can as I am moving away from motor sports photography. My recent photographic assignments have included shooting British Superbikes, some World Superbikes and Clay shooting for the press. I have been the official photographer for the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike team. You may view some of my published work on my website. I have shot some major sporting events including the 2002 Commonwealth Games and have covered the North West 200 road races in Northern Ireland for the Rizla Suzuki team. I also enjoy shooting concerts and regularly shoot some unsigned bands in London. Type business: Full Time Professional My photographic style: Impulsive and spontaneous. My greatest strengths: I adapt easily to whatever situation I find myself in so my clients feel at ease very quickly. I always try to find some common ground. I have been in photography: Since school but have been full time professional since 2000. How I got started in photography: I had photography lessons at school in Amsterdam in the seventies. My photographic skills: I am highly adaptable and respond to feedback from clients. My personality: Basically a shy person but I have learned to be more outgoing during photo shoots. Geographic areas I cover: Mainly south east England but I am prepared to travel and have done so frequently to cover events all over Europe and in New York. Venues I frequently attend: I like old buildings with character. I prefer shooting with natural light although I am equally at home in my studio equipped with the latest in Elinchrom lighting. I found inspiration from: I am inspired by people who are at ease with themselves and as far as photographers go I would say Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ansel Adams, Jeff Ascough, Joe Buissink and Yervant off the top of my head. Success in photography: Norwich School of Photography Grade 1 in Social Photography and Grade 2 in Portraiture. Photographic training: I trained with the Norwich School of Photography My interests outside photography...: Computing, Motorcycle Racing, clay shooting Why I like the SWPP BPPA: I like the feeling of camaraderie and the help and advice that is available. Tagline: Focussing on personalities rather than poses. Future plans I would like to build my studio business from its home based status into somewhere people talk about locally as THE place to go for portrait photography.
