My greatest strengths: Wedding and portrait photography in either black and white or colour, whilst still developing black and white photographs the old fashioned way. I have been in photography: I have been a photographer for 15 years. How I got started in photography: I always enjoyed taking photographs, but when my daughter went to college to study I took the opportunity with her to do something I really enjoyed and went to college one evening a week, and it developed from their. My photographic skills: I enjoy and work well with people of all ages. My personality: Down to earth and the funny guy. Geographic areas I cover: Lanarkshire and Central Scotland at present but would travel where job takes me. Venues I frequently attend: Any venue is never too large or too small. I found inspiration from: Mark Cleghorn is a very inspirational wedding and portrait Photographer, my class tutor Lewis Napier who has thought me a great deal through my time at college and has become a good friend also. Beautiful Landscapes and backgrounds also inspire me to take landscape photographs for myself. Success in photography: I have 17 Higher qualifications in both black and white and in IT and digital Photography. Photographic training: I have studied for 15 years at night school to gain my qualifications. My interests outside photography: My family and friends and spending time with them. I am also an outdoors person where I often just pick up my camera and walk for miles stopping along the way to take a few snaps of the Great British wildlife and country side. Major events: My daughters wedding in 2011, Which I am also doing the photography for. I'm guessing it will be a busy day for me. Why I like the SWPP: SWPP and BPPA is an excellent organisation not only for photographers but also for people who are looking for photographers. They provide a vast array of information about almost everything photographical and if help is needed they are only a phone call or email away. All the staff are extremely helpful and professional and more of a family than a business organisation. Future plans: To continue to study photography for as long as I can as you can always learn something new and I can always help someone less experienced than myself.
