He has over 25 years published experience as a photographer and specializes in advertising, editorial, portrait and Fine Art photography. Stephen was the recipient of the 2007 Guru Award for Photoshop Excellence (Photography Section). He was awarded the trophy at the "Photoshop World" event, in Boston, USA. Also in 2007 the prestigious Association of Editorial Photographers of the UK & Ireland honored Stephen Power with a "Showcase" of his work on his website. Stephen is also a very experienced trainer, lecturer and course designer and offers personal photography and/or computer-based digital imaging workshops using Photoshop and Light room software. The workshop base is ideally situated in the west Limerick countryside - in the grounds of an 18th century manor house, complete with its own private wood and river. The tuition is personally designed, via direct consultation with the students - to suit individual level of expertise, and individual requirements. Students can choose to explore a range of photographic techniques and subjects, including still life, studio portraiture, and landscape and travel imagery. It may also be possible to arrange to "shadow" Stephen on a professional shoot. Stephen Power is a member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Editorial Photographers Association (EPUK) and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
