Simon Turner has an Exhibition here. Type business: Full Time Professional Photographer My photographic style: All about the lighting :-) Still learning (won't ever stop, probably) but enthusiastic and keen that everyone I work with/shoot for gets as much out of it as I do - win or no can do! My greatest strengths: Perseverance and enthusiasm. I love problem solving and enjoy the pre-planning and post production almost as much as the shoot. I have been in photography: 25 years give or take How I got started in photography: Kid given a camera My photographic skills: I like to "make" photos rather than just "take" them. With this in mind I spend a lot of time planning shots and making sure that I work with good people. My personality: Passionate and enthusiastic. I am driven and need to do this :-) Geographic areas I cover: Happy to travel for good opportunities. Venues I frequently attend: I love outdoor dramatic scenery and am always on the look out for new locations - I have a large number of great locations around Yorkshire I found inspiration from: People in general I love portraying a person's back-story in their portrait. I also find working with other creative’s - dancers in particular extremely rewarding. Success in photography: I have been published five or six times now in a variety of magazines (professional photographer, digital SLR magazine), calendars (Evo Owners) and journals (medical education). I have had my work exhibited all over the North of England including the Imperial War Museum. Photographic training: Although initially self taught I was lucky enough to be introduced to Damian McGillicuddy's mentoring scheme My interests outside photography: Music, principally having played in a number of bands over the years. Major events: Children! Why I like the SWPP: Great opportunity to have objective consideration and mentoring of my work and opportunity to enjoy that of others.
