Hi Mark,
Yes, it's a 2 stop difference between hilite and subject... can't be anymore specific than that at the moment though because I'm away from home for a few days.
The softbox isn't huge - 100x80cm I think - but I had a shoot through brolly aiming...

are you posative there is a 2 stop differance between subject and hilite ?
Is it a large softbox and if so is it directing down slightly.
whats your fstop and light set up
