The enormous interest in our fine art papers and the second edition of the magazine UPON PAPER exceeded our wildest expectations, said Michael Siekiera, CEO of Hahnemhle FineArt GmbH. This fact confirms my assessment that high-quality prints with lasting value will keep on gaining significance - and this also applies to the photography in our increasingly digitalised world. We are really delighted with the success of Photokina and even more so when it comes to our international following.
The new products on show attracted particular attention - The internationally acclaimed Photo Rag', Museum Etching' and William Turner' papers are now available in A3 and A2 deckled edge formats. The new 210 gsm HARMAN by Hahnemhle Matt Fibre Duo', which can be printed on on both sides, meets the fine art paper standards while being thin and flexible enough to be used for the binding of a book. The orientation of the paper fibres, which is of major importance for bookbinders, is predetermined for each available size.

The second edition of the UPON PAPER magazine, with the title Color', also caused a stir. UPON PAPER came into existence due to Hahnemhle's close bond with art and design and from a desire to create a contemporary and open platform for discussing all forms of art - even those removed from the medium of paper. Additional pillars of the project are the UPON PAPER Web and the UPON PAPER Space in Berlin Mitte.
Another highlight was an event themed No Limits - Paper makes creativity visible'. Fashion photographer Per Zennstrm presented the entire process of a picture production at the Hahnemhle booth - from the shooting to the perfect fine art print. On each day of the show, hundreds of visitors used this opportunity to witness every detail of the workflow.
Please find extensive background information texts, pictures, videos on the new products and artists on site in our Photokina blog. In addition, we would like to recommend you watch our film featuring Q&A's as well as Photokina images.
