Olympus Imaging Corporation President Haruo Ogawa is pleased to announce the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6 II, scheduled to go on sale at the end of February, 2015. This 10.7x high-magnification interchangeable zoom lens features a dustproof and splash proof construction in a compact, lightweight body, and conforms to the Micro Four Thirds System standard. With this lens included, the M.Zuiko Digital dustproof and splash proof lens lineup totals five different lenses.

This lens is based on a redesign of the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6, which was released in June 2010. It features ZERO Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical Coating for thorough correction of ghosts and flaring, and the dustproof and splash proof performance used on the OM-D E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II.
The compact, lightweight M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f4.0-5.6 II 28-300mm, 35mm equivalent , covers the focal length from wide angle to telephoto. This single 10.7x high-magnification zoom lens is perfect for capturing close-ups of children's expressions, shooting indoors and outdoors, and a wide variety of subjects. It now features a dustproof and splash proof construction, making it perfect for travelling.

The design has also been completely reworked and the same sealing, dustproof and splash proof construction as the current four dustproof and splash proof M.Zuiko Digital lenses is used to match the design to the OM-D E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II.

1. Dustproof and splashproof construction for shooting in a variety of scenes

This lens is equipped with the same dustproof and splash proof construction that was popular on the OM-D. When combined with the OM-D E-M1 or E-M5 Mark II, it maintains a high level of impermeability against sand, dust, and water droplets, making it possible to shoot without worrying even in the difficult environmental conditions.

2. Ultra compact form with dedicated digital deisgn for superior imaging performance

Significantly compact and high image quality
With a maximum diameter of approximately 64mm, this is an extremely slim 10.7 high-magnification zoom lens. The optical system consists of many special glass materials, including DSA-1 lenses, EDA-2 lenses, and E-HR-3 lenses for excellent image quality across the entire 10.7x zoom range.
Excellent close-up shooting capability
The lens can capture subjects at all zoom ranges from a closest shooting distance of 50cm approx. 33cm from the end of the lens. Up to a maximum shooting magnification of 0.22x 35mm equivalent 0.44x is possible with close-up shooting.
ZERO Coating
ZERO Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical Coating is applied to the surface of the lens making it possible to throughly remove ghosts and flaring. ZERO Coating ensures clear image quality even in backlit or other unfavourable conditions.
Circular aperture
A circular aperture mechanism is used to create natural defocusing effects without any flaws.

3. Sophisticated controls

High-speed, silent autofocus
An inner focusing system is used, and an MSC mechanism consisting of just two lenses for a compact, lightweight lens unit, makes high-speed, silent autofocus possible. This makes for comfortable and enjoyable, stress-free still image and movie shooting.
Smooth manual focus
The manual focusing mechanism is designed to offer a responsive feel, with just the right amount of resistance to enable smooth, precise operation.

1. Protection Filter PRF-D58 PRO for protecting the lens from scratches

This is a lightweight, thin protection filter with a filter diameter of 58mm. Double-sided multi-coating and blackened glass edges are used to suppress flaring and ghosts caused by reflections, and a satin finish black alumite aluminium frame is used for a matte surface.

2. Lens Case LSC-0914 for protecting the lens

This pouch-style lens case protects lenses with a three-layer construction. The lens can be stored in this case with the lens hood attached backward, lens cap, and protection filter attached.
