Mitsubishi Electric launches new photo kiosk for stores big on ideas but short on space

Mitsubishi Electric launches the new Smart Kiosk Gifts, a mini all-in-one self-service photo kiosk for retailers, stores and copy shops that are big on ideas but short on space.

The kiosk slots into a counter top space less than quarter of a square metre, yet produces high-quality prints in a choice of formats creating instant photo books, albums, greeting cards, calendars and framed pictures.

The Smart Kiosk Gifts Plus is available as an all-in one counter system with the customer self-service interface and printer coming as a single unit. Alternatively, for stores preferring a modular system, the Smart Kiosk Gifts provides the flexibility to position the self-service customer interface on the counter and locate the printer behind for staff access only.

The single customers interface allows customers to easily import images using the kiosk’s Android and iPhone cable connections, a memory card or from a customer’s Facebook, Instagram, Picasa, Flickr and Dropbox accounts. Customers who download the Kiosk Prints app, available from Apple and Google Play, can upload their photos directly from a phone or tablet. The touchscreen editing suite enables customers to re-size, crop or adjust the colour before creating their prints or personalised photo gifts.

Each kiosk comes with a choice of Mitsubishi Electric printer depending on likely levels of usage and budget. The company’s printing solutions are used by professional photographers, security and medical sectors, as well as retail outlets and copy shops because of their advanced technology and reliability. The kiosk printers feature the latest dye sublimation technology which gives exception quality and stunning prints.

The Kiosk delivers automated updates, alerts and remote access to enable store managers to keep abreast of sales by centrally tracking the usage statistics of kiosks located across a number of sites simultaneously.

The Smart Kiosk Gifts join Mitsubishi Electric’s extensive photo kiosk gift range which includes the Kiosk Gifts Plus, the Kiosk Gifts Flex and the Compact Kiosk Gifts.

Paul Jones, UK & Ireland Regional Manager says, ''Increasing numbers of people are taking pictures on their smartphones and accessing photographs of friends and family across their social media platforms. It’s estimated that there will be 4 billion smartphone users by 2018 and 1 in 8 of those will regularly print directly from their device. Mitsubishi Electric is responding to this demand by providing a wide-range of self-service photo kiosks and accompanying gift products to retailers, stores, forecourts and copy shops so they can capitalise on this rapid growth area by satisfying their customer needs.''
