The Society of International Travel and Tourism Photographers have announced the winners of the Street Photography Competition.
Owens Pereira from Kerala, India was chosen as the winner from over 225 images entered in to the competition.
Owens has won 12 months membership to The Society of International Travel and Tourism Photographers (SITTP) organisation.
Owens tells us ''I am extremely happy that my image have secured 1st place with the Street Photography Competition and now I am a member with the society. It’s absolutely a great honour.''
''Chillum smoking happens to be very popular among aged men in Rajasthan .A special smoking pipe made with clay where its origin is routed to 18th century of India among wandering Hindu monks known as Sadhus ( Holy men ). It is usually filled with flavoured tobacco known as zarda or with other smoking substances. The smoked pipe is passed to the other ( or next ) man, were he takes a leisurely puff.
Captured this street portrait in the evenings of Rajasthan, India, where an elderly man exhaling smoke from Chillum after a deep puff. With strong feeling of ecstasy reflected from his eyes.''

Phil Jones, the Societies CEO says, ''The street photography competition produced some great images and Owens shot caught the theme of the competition brilliantly.''
There are 2 runners up Stephen Newton from Glasgow, Scotland and Joseph Cela from New York, USA both won 6 months memberships respectively.
