Package your prints to protect your profits

Inkjet prints can be high in value as limited editions, but they are fragile and need the right protection in studios and galleries to let customers handle them safely.

Javerette offer this with the ClearFile Archival Plus polypropylene sleeves - the 12 x 18'' size is ideal for 12 x 16'' and A3 prints too, with the extra length allowing you to seal the original in.

This can be done using an inexpensive bag heat sealer. Spot welding devices start from around £5 (about the size of a stapler) and full heat sealing from £70 up depending on the width, with or without a guillotine to cut the surplus off.

Sleeving the print, whether matte mounted or not, enhances its value and you can also price-label on the sleeve without risk to the original artwork.

For slip-in, matte and strut mounted prints Javerette’s lightweight clear fronted, paper backed bags are ideal. The slightly oversized dimensions allow the thickness of standard mounts to be inserted quickly and easily, ideal when packaging hundreds of events prints. The clear front is safe for dye-sub prints as well as inkjet and photo papers.

The full range of British made Javerette print, film and slide archiving and protection products can be seen and ordered directly from the manufacturer at www.javerette.com
