Dipinto's bespoke software allows newspapers to upload photo orders and images via a secure internet link and the company delivers topquality prints and other merchandise direct to their customers' homes.
All staff require is access to a PC or Mac and an internet connection.
Dipinto produces a wide range of print sizes and posters, and basic prices for topquality prints are extremely competitive allowing considerable margins on retail prices to the public.
If you add to Dipintos low prices, the quality of the prints, the flexibility, speed there is a 48hour turnround on prints and additional promotional spinoffs the system offers a very attractive proposition.
Payment by newspaper readers is upfront. Staff send images and orders via their desktop computers and all orders would be dispatched bearing the newspaper's masthead or group logo on the delivery note. All orders are also backstamped with the newspapers copyright.
Dipintos ordering system is webbased, and does not require any installation. It enables the user in newspaper offices, with an individual password, to place new orders and view the status of all orders on the system, as well as create management reports.
The status of all orders can be viewed at any time because the system is updated real time.
Dipintos ordering software also offers a range of reporting facilities which can be adjusted to customers' preferences, but typical reports might be this week's orders with revenue, this month's orders, orders for a specific date range, most popular product, most popular print size, special events, and towns/villages which were ordering most often.
The system has two elements
1. On line application All that is required is an internet connection and internet explorer as well as names and passwords to log on. This application enables the user to place new orders and view the status off all orders on the system, as well as create management reports.
2. Off line system this is a PCbased installation very simple installation wizard. This part of the system is used only for ordering, its advantage over the online application being that many orders can be placed without having to upload the images individually. Once a batch of orders is entered, images are uploaded all together at the end of the day or at lunchtime, for example. It is therefore much faster if there are many orders to be placed, or if internet connections are variable or poor, or subject to occasional delays.
The offline application automatically synchronises with the online application so staff can view orders, and the status of orders, regardless of which application was used to upload the orders.
Web sales we have also developed a system by which newspapers can sell photos directly from their web sites.
Newspapers can either use a link from their sites so customers log on to a bespoke photo ordering page hosted by us, or newspapers can host photos on their own site and use a software link to allow Dipinto to retrieve images from the newspapers servers.
