Calumet adds Leaf to its medium format product portfolio

Calumet Photographic is set to sell Leaf digital camera backs in the UK, Germany and Holland.

Following negotiations with the Phase One-owned medium format capture company, the UK’s leading professional photographic retailer will now offer customers Leaf high-end imaging solutions.

Michele Channer, Calumet UK MD explained: “This new deal will give our customers access to an even wider range of medium format products.

We already market high-end Mamiya capture products, including the 645DF. Additionally, we also showcase selected large format cameras with adapters. But as Phase One doesn’t sell the highest resolution systems under the Mamiya brand, it seemed logical for us to expand our product line and provide Leaf options.”

She added: “Since Leaf’s acquisition by Phase One two years ago its line has developed consistently – including the introduction of the highly versatile 80MP Aptus-11 12R camera system – and we are looking forward to retailing Leaf products across our stores and through our online shop www.calumetphoto.co.uk

Henrik Hakonsson, president and CEO at Phase One said: “We are committed to exciting future developments for the Leaf brand of products through innovative engineering, worldwide marketing and customer service. And moving forward, Leaf customers will benefit from many synergies with Phase One.”

Demonstration appointments for the new Leaf products can be made at any Calumet branch.
