In direct response to consumer feedback Giotto’s has this week
launched two new larger Vitruvian tripods with an increased weight
capacity of 9kg.
Available in Aluminium and Carbon Fibre these new larger, more stable,
tripods still fold down to an incredibly compact 40cm.
The newest additions have an operating height of 147cm, and with the
centre column extended reach a maximum 171cm.The VGRN9265 is
manufactured using aluminium tubing and weighs 2.03kg while the VGRN8265
uses 7 layer carbon tubing and weighs just 1.72kg.
Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man, Giotto’s
Vitruvian tripods are designed to offer photographers not only a truly
lightweight and compact tripod, but were also the first tripods to
include the built in monopod.
VGRN tripods are fitted with a compact ball + socket head that offers
friction control, pan lock, quick release plate and spirit levels. The
legs also feature retractable spiked feet and a splittable centre column
for low-level use.
All Vitruvian tripods feature reverse technology legs - so that when
collapsed they fold through 180 degrees to surround the tripod centre
column, allowing the tripod to fold into a more compact and portable
unit.
The tripod castings are made from a forged aluminium alloy for strength
and the twist leg locks require only 1/8 turn to lock and unlock -
making it quick and easy to set the tripod up.
All are supplied with a carry bag and have a 5 year warranty.

Photo Quote: To take photographs means to recognize - simultaneously and within a fraction of a second - both the fact itself and the rigorous organization of visually perceived forms that give it meaning. It is putting one's head, one's eye and one's heart on the same axis. - Henri Cartier-Bresson
