Pro Centre Moves Home.

14/04/11

‘This move enables us to expand and provide our customers with a whole new raft of rental and sales solutions’ Chris Russell-Fish, Hasselblad UK MD and global sales and marketing director

The Pro Centre is moving.
After almost a quarter of a century based at Mallow Street, London EC1, the popular photographic rental company is relocating to new, larger premises just a few minutes walk away.

The 3,900sq ft. new-look, open-plan Pro Centre is open for business from Tuesday May 31st at Union Walk E2.
Pro Centre general manager Renny Lee said: “This move is a major step forward for us. After twenty four years of working on three storeys we finally have our entire rental and sales operation on the ground floor in an open-plan environment, outside the Congestion Zone and with access to a free drop-off and parking area.”

Key features of the move:
* Comprehensive and unmatched range of very latest rental equipment
* The entire Pro Centre operation on the ground floor
* Located outside the Congestion Charge zone
* ‘Drop –off’ and parking area outside
* Open-plan layout; new demo area.
* No awkward steps; trolley system for heavy equipment transportation; imminent automated door opening system.
* No switchboards: 1-2-1 direct customer call handling versatility
* Unbeatable fast delivery from a 100-vehicle strong courier facility
* Didgeridoo: get an expert digital operator and hire equipment in one package deal

The Pro Centre’s staff are all photographically qualified and experienced.
Said Lee: “When photographers come to us they know we will only supply the very latest equipment. Another big plus is our 1-2-1 approach on the phone. Our staff are multi-skilled. If a customer calls about rental, sales, consumables, hardware, repairs, accounts queries, or the growing Didgeridoo service (where you hire the equipment AND a digital operator to help you get the best out of it)

Said Lee: “When photographers come to us they know we will only supply the very latest equipment. Another big plus is our 1-2-1 approach on the phone. Our staff are multi-skilled. If a customer calls about rental, sales, consumables, hardware, repairs, accounts queries, or the growing Didgeridoo service (where you hire the equipment AND a digital operator to help you get the best out of it) the person answering your call will deal with it. There is no demarcation or departmentalisation.”

He added: “Our delivery service affords us total flexibility too. We will get equipment to the customer when it is needed – not when it suits us to deliver it. We book a courier immediately an order is confirmed and we frequently make deliveries in London within thirty minutes of a customer’s call. Delivery to London postcodes by bike is free for orders with a value in excess of £150 and bulkier orders with a value of over £250 requiring a van, are also free.”

The Pro Centre began as a showcase for Hasselblad in the city of London.
Explained Lee: “It was a sales and service outlet run by a couple of people and a technician who serviced cameras while customers waited.
But people immediately started asking if they could rent Hasselblad lenses. And from then on the rental side rapidly expanded. We soon added Bron and Arri lighting equipment to the inventory and started working with Nikon cameras too. Later we added other key brands to our hire stock, such as Canon and Apple. In 1996 we introduced Profoto lighting equipment to the UK and our range of equipment and consumables continued to evolve as the market shifted towards digital capture.”

He added: “Our new home will allow us to comfortably handle larger and heavier equipment. We have continuously expanded our range of services over the years and that remains our ambition.”
