PIXMA printers win best in test in recent Which? home printer comparison

Canon, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced that Which?, the UK’s leading independent consumer magazine, has awarded the company’s PIXMA printers five Best Buy awards in recent comparison tests for home inkjet printers.

The comparison test, which looked at key players in the inkjet home printing market, assessed the cost of ownership for each product, as well as print quality and speed. Not only did Canon’s PIXMA iP6700D, iP6600D, iP5200R, iP5200, and iP4200 take the top five places, but the Canon PIXMA iP4200 also picked up an exceptional value award with the lowest running costs of all the Best Buys on test.

“Home printing is booming and with an estimated 7 million images printed in UK homes in 2006, it is important that consumers find the right printer that suits their needs. Consumers want reliable products that produce exceptional quality and that don’t cost a fortune and Canon’s range of PIXMA printers does exactly this,” commented Alessandro Stanzani, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging UK & Ireland.

Canon’s PIXMA range of printers was brought to market in 2004 to offer consumers a combination of stylish and contemporary design with industry leading technology. Each printer in the PIXMA range produces high quality and high speed prints.

“Home printing has grown significantly in recent years, mostly because of the rise in popularity of digital photography. Consumers in the UK not only want to take great pictures but they also want to print them out and display them at home. Put simply, digital photography and home printing has become an integral part of peoples’ lives,” concluded Stanzani.
