Canon’s single-function PIXMA iP4850 produces stunning photo and document prints

Canon has today announced the launch of its latest high quality single-function photo and document printer, the PIXMA iP4850, designed to produce stunning prints, fast. Replacing the hugely popular iP4700, the new printer combines stunning design and performance with advanced software. The PIXMA iP4850 comes with Canon’s unique Full HD Movie Print Function, which makes printing high quality images from your movies simple, and for people using Canon genuine inks CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM provides on-line exclusive content from famous local and international artists.

Canon’s FINE printhead technology produces class leading minimum 1 picolitre ink droplets and achieves maximum 9,600 dpi print resolution for photolab-print quality prints and crisp, sharp text. The PIXMA iP4850 has 5 Single Inks which are individually replaceable to optimise ink usage and has impressive ISO ESAT print speeds of approximately 11.0ipm mono, approximately 9.3ipm colour and a photolab-quality 10x15cm borderless photo print in approximately 20 seconds.

The PIXMA iP4850 is bundled with a suite of advanced software including its unique Full HD Movie Print Function. Users are able to print beautiful images by selecting a single frame from a full HD movie captured on Canon’s Digital SLR range or HD movie captured on Canon Digital Still Cameras. The software produces exceptional detail from resolutions up to 1,080p input and can enhance the resolution of an image and reduce the amount of noise.

An enhanced version of Easy-WebPrint EX offers smart, yet simple web printing, allowing users to clip, combine and print pages from the web. It’s also possible to print booklets from the clipped web pages and even insert your own images.

The enhanced Easy-PhotoPrint EX makes printing photos and more creative content easy and now has the benefit of direct access to Flickr.

Designed with practicality and functionality in mind, Canon’s PIXMA iP4850 not only looks stunning and will fit into any environment, but is also equipped with auto duplex printing as standard, two-way paper feeding and offers Direct Disc printing onto compatible DVD, CDs and Blu-Ray® media. The PIXMA iP4850 is one of the most versatile single function printers on the market.
Availability

The PIXMA iP4850 is available across Europe from September 2010.
