Canon today announces the launch of the new PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280: easy-to-use All-In-One printers combining signature Canon image quality with advanced PIXMA features and market-leading value - offering the perfect solution for first-time buyers, students and families. Both new models feature Canon’s groundbreaking new Full HD Movie Print Function and include the ability to access and print images directly from popular photo-sharing site Flickr® from Easy-PhotoPrint EX software. The PIXMA MP495 also offers integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, making it the most affordable wireless Canon All-In-One launched to date.

Stills or movies - capture and print in exceptional detail
Revolutionary Full HD Movie Print Function makes it easy for PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280 users to capture and print treasured moments from full HD video footage shot using Canon’s range of Digital SLRs or HD movie footage captured on Canon Digital Still Cameras. Movie Frame Enhancement technology automatically analyses each picture, enhancing resolution and suppressing noise to provide optimum image quality.

Effortless speed, breathtaking detail
Both PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280 deliver high-quality photos and documents at remarkable speeds. In default mode, PIXMA MP280 can print a photo-lab quality 10x15cm borderless photo in approximately 43 seconds, and, for document printing, boasts an ISO ESAT print speed of approximately 8.4ipm in mono and approximately 4.8ipm in colour. The PIXMA MP495 is just as impressive, printing a 10x15cm borderless image in approximately 41 seconds, with an ISO ESAT print speed of approximately 8.8ipm in mono and approximately 5.0ipm in colour.
PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280 use Canon’s FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) cartridges, which are ideal for detailed photo printing thanks to a minimum 2 picolitre droplet size. Combined with a maximum 4,800dpi print resolution, this enables both All-In-Ones to deliver virtually grain-free, smooth and beautiful photos. Common image faults such as under-exposure are also automatically corrected using integrated Auto-Photo Fix II technology.

Sophisticated software
Canon’s simple-to-use Easy-PhotoPrint EX software encourages users to be more creative with their favourite images. As well as being able to print photos, calendars, and albums from their own image collection, in-software access to Flickr® also allows users to search, browse, import and print publicly available pictures as they wish.

Furthermore, Easy-WebPrint EX provides effortless and intelligent web printing functionality, allowing users to select, clip and combine content from different web pages into one document, fit to a single page, or create a booklet.

Intuitive and intelligent functionality
Designed with the user in mind, the PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280 make it incredibly simple to take advantage of the full range of creative opportunities both models offer. Each printer features Canon’s new Solution Menu EX, which utilises easily recognisable icons to make navigation and selecting functions as simple as possible. An additional desktop accessory can also be customised to suit a user’s individual preferences, displaying their favourite items for instant and easy access.

Each model also incorporates Auto Scan Mode for high quality scanning via a simple, one-click process, while Canon’s Quick Start feature means users can begin operation almost straight away. A direct Scan to PDF feature quickly converts paper documents into electronic format, and Auto Document Fix technology delivers beautiful, easy-to-view scan results using automatic advanced image analysis alongside area-by-area data correction.

The PIXMA MP495 and PIXMA MP280 are available across EMEA from September 2010.
