Exclusive 7 Premium MultiMedia Album
Coming March 2012
SRP: £119 ex vat
Exclusive 7’s latest development of their secure MultiMedia Album, aimed at
photographic professionals as well as consumers, has been designed from the
ground up to present a quality solution without compromises. As the digital
album market has evolved, the industry trend has been to add functions and
features to a product primarily intended as a static display device.
Exclusive 7 has approached the need for a higher-quality offering from a
different perspective, developing a system which retains the purity and
simplicity of a dedicated media viewer, whilst embracing the contemporary style
and playback capabilities expected by today’s consumer.
The Premium MultiMedia Album will be on sale in March 2012, featuring a slimline
(13mm thick) aluminium and glass construction, touch-sensitive illuminated
controls and a class-leading high quality 10” 1024 x 768 resolution display.
It’s compatible with SDHC cards, up to 32GB, with software support for a wide
range of formats including full HD movies. A built-in rechargeable battery
allows up to 5 hours of autonomous playback.
Exclusive 7’s passcode-protected internal memory is provided for photographers
wishing to distribute images preloaded on the album.
In 2010, Exclusive 7 identified an opening in the market for a high quality
digital album to expand the range of products photographers could offer. Rather
than the low-cost devices with bulky surrounds and prominent controls and
branding, the 7” and 8” albums are designed to fit unobtrusively into the home,
with a full-size mirrored glass display. To protect the photographer’s images
from unauthorised reproduction, the internal memory is passcode protected - an
Exclusive 7 innovation with patents pending in the UK and the USA - whilst
consumers are able to use SD card storage to benefit from the album’s playback
capability with their own media.
The introduction of tablet computers increased demand for similarly-styled
multimedia players, yet presented consumers and photographers alike with a
dilemma; the cost of a well made tablet computer with a good user experience was
approaching 5-10x the cost of a straightforward digital album.
Rather than attempting to make a cheaper tablet computer by lowering quality,
Exclusive 7 took the core attributes that consumers look for in this market, and
applied them to the dedicated playback capabilities of the digital album. The
Premium MultiMedia Album offers the same LCD display technology as current
high-end tablets, an aluminium and glass construction only 13mm thick (almost
1/3rd the depth of typical 10” albums), and a powerful 400MHz ARM processor
offering support for a wide variety of still, audio and video formats,
minimising the need for frustrating format conversion.
Internal memory of 2GB provides ample room to permanently - and securely - store
high-resolution images and video, building the life story of friends and family,
whilst the slim, strong construction lends itself to any environment - rivaling
conventional print-media photo frames for size. At £119 ex vat the Premium
MultiMedia Album offers a display specification of unusually high quality of for
a digital photo frame, and a build quality to match.
A familiar user interface has been designed, allowing users to interact with the
album either via the included remote control, or a row of illuminated, touch
sensitive buttons retaining a clean, uncluttered design without sacrificing
direct selection of media. For a wider range of uses, the album has been
designed with an integrated 5 hour battery, charged when docked in the
unobtrusive display stand, and can be used as a robust and attractive media
player.
Convenience for the consumer has been a priority, with a single unobtrusive
connection for line-level audio output, power and USB, positioned for a
landscape orientation. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack allows movie playback
whilst traveling, whilst a single internal speaker is optimised for use as a
point of sale or presentation device.
The powerful HD-capable chipset in the Premium Multimedia Album allows direct
access to true HD media. An optional HDMI output cable allows the album to be
used as a media source for HDTVs and projectors, for album display, movie
playback and presentations. For personal presentations, it’s possible to play a
soundtrack alongside image galleries.
The 10” Premium MultiMedia Album will be available through Exclusive 7, from
March 2012. Pre launch discounts are available.
