Flash photos will never be the same…

The latest innovation to create studio quality light without the studio is the new Gary Fong WhaleTail™ diffuser. The WhaleTail looks exactly like its name suggests and is the next generation of flash diffuser to come from the same innovator as the highly rated Lightsphere II Internal Dome System. Built on the success of the Lightsphere II, which was the only diffuser to achieve a maximum 5 star rating in the Professional Photographer magazine group test, the WhaleTail is destined to achieve the same great accolades from all who use it.

The WhaleTail’s unique, hard plastic design features a universal, patent pending mounting system, designed to fit almost all models of flash. This specially designed fastening system forms a secure, tight fit that could even enable the entire camera to be lifted simply by holding the WhaleTail alone.

The WhaleTail™ offers control and creativity in one compact and highly portable package. The only diffuser with double barn door, interchangeable flaps - one to trim light from the top of the device and the other for trimming light through the back. It makes so much sense to use an available rear wall as a bounce surface. The rear panel flips up to reveal an open back to bounce the light backwards to create softness. If you don’t want rear bounce simply lower the back flap and close the opening.

The WhaleTail’s reversible head provides maximum versatility allowing the photographer to choose and switch between softness or power. The curve facing forward maximises power. Turning the flash through 180 degrees to have the flaps facing forward provides the ultimate in lighting softness. The flaps are also easily interchangeable with amber or reflective silver variations to cool your images or provide yet more power to deal with whatever lighting situation you find yourself in.

For warming, cooling, special effects or just plain experimentation fun, the WhaleTail’s unique Gel Tray allows the superfast interchange of specially designed coloured gels to make Whaletail™ the most creative on-camera flash diffuser system ever and its lightweight design helps you achieve beautifully lit vertical images without the need for a flash bracket. WhaleTail™ is simply the most versatile, creative and portable on-camera flash diffusion system available today.

BBJ Imports are the offical UK partners of Gary Fong Inc. and for a limited time they are offering SWPP members the opportunity to acquire this innovative and effective, yet simple lighting system with a Special 15% Saving using the promotion code shown in their advert. They have taken care of the importation issues and we can ship to you within 24 hours – usually the same day.
