Gitzo GT90TT tripod

08/04/08

Bogen Imaging, leaders in professional photo and video accessories, are continuing to celebrate the Gitzo 90th anniversary with the announcement of the limited edition GT90TT Titanium tripod.

Professionals all over the world acknowledge Gitzo tripods, monopods, heads and accessories as the benchmark for excellence. Synonymous with uncompromising quality through innovative design, materials and construction, 2008 sees Gitzo taking that reputation even further with some fantastic advances in tripod technology.

Gitzo have only produced a quantity of 390 GT90TT tripods worldwide making the special tripod a must-have piece of photographic equipment for the serious photographer and collector alike.

The tripod with an RRP of £1500 can be purchased by placing an order with a Bogen Imaging accredited five star dealer which are located nationwide.

Celebrating InnovationThe Gitzo G-Lock system is an evolution of the twist-lock idea, making it substantially faster, stronger and more rigid than ever before. The unique cone shaped ramp and locking ring are used to create a gravity locking effect – the higher the load applied vertically to the system the stronger the locking effect

Offering quiet operation and better reliability than the click-lock systems found on cheaper tripods, Gitzo has always featured twist locks for locking legs at the desired height.

The system resulted in a range of Carbon 6x and Basalt Fibre tripods which dramatically increased maximum weight loads, more torsion stability, and a locking system that is incredibly fast and easy to use, even with cold or gloved hands.Further innovation from the company ensured that all models now feature completely reworked upper discs.

A Carbon Safelock feature was added to all models in the Carbon 6x range. By using this material Gitzo was able to cut vibrations and improve tripod-to-head lock. The discs on the Basalt and Aluminium tripods were also improved, and are now made from strong yet light techno-polymer.

For even more versatility, Gitzo last year introduced the Ground Level Set across the range. This effective solution allows you to simply remove the centre column in just a few seconds, opening up even lower shooting angles for creative fuss-free photography.

Gitzo have some of the most beautifully engineered tripods and heads on the market today. Photo Quote: As I became aware that all things have unique spatial and temporal qualities which visually define and relate them, I began to perceive the things I was photographing not as objects but as events. Working to develop my skills of perceiving and symbolizing these event qualities, I discovered the principle of opposites. When, for example, I photographed the smooth, luminous body of a woman behind a dirty cobwebbed window, I found that the qualities of each event were enhanced and the universal forces which they manifested were more powerfully evoked. - Wynn Bullock
