Hahnemuehle Bamboo 290 FineArt Inkjet paper

12/12/07

Hahnemühle FineArt has developed the world’s first FineArt inkjet paper made from bamboo fibres. The natural white paper with a warm tone combines spiritual photography with environmentally friendly materials. Bamboo 290 consists of ultra-pure fibres from highly renewable bamboo grass and pure spring water. The 23rd paper from the international award winning Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection renders the sensual connection between art and paper palpable and visible.

The eagerly anticipated fibre based FineArt Baryta 325 paper with its unique glossy baryta surface similar to traditional baryta papers is ideal for brilliant black and white prints with the finest grey nuances and also for luminous colour photographs. This paper is a worthy replacement for the legendary baryta paper from analogue laboratories and also possesses the exquisite tactile, sensuous surface typical to Hahnemühle papers. As with all other products in the Hahnemühle Digital FineArt Collection these two new products are extremely age resistant.

Hahnemühle has showcased Bamboo 290 and FineArt Baryta 325 in Barcelona, Shanghai, Paris and New York trade shows, with Focus 2008 marking its official launch in the UK. The new products have been very favourably received by photographers worldwide and are available in UK stores now.

Bamboo 290 is the first FineArt inkjet paper to be made of approx 90% highly renewable bamboo fibres, thereby helping to conserve valuable resources. Its natural white tone makes it particularly suitable for warm-hued colours. The paper’s wide colour gamut and extreme colour density ensures detailed FineArt prints with a three dimensional image sharpness. In an exciting environmental initiative, Hahnemühle will donate a fixed amount depending on product size from the sale of each Bamboo paper product towards environmental projects. Until the end of this year everyone has the opportunity to propose a worthy project on the website http://www.greenrooster.com/, so log on now for your chance to make a difference. Voting on the projects selected starts 1st of February next year and finishes end of 2008, when the total amount donated will be divided accordingly between the chosen projects.

FineArt Baryta 325 is a brilliant white, 100% Alpha-Cellulose, ultra-smooth, high gloss, fibre based paper. FineArt Baryta sets the benchmark for high colour depth, large colour gamut and image definition. This paper gives the wow factor particularly to black and white prints with an extremely high dmax and the finest grey tones. Using a true barium sulphate in the premium inkjet coating ensures the typical gloss that makes this paper a genuine replacement for traditional Baryta papers from analogue laboratories.
