Leading photo-imaging business makes it easier than ever for customers in Canada
to purchase ILFORD PHOTO, HARMAN PHOTO and Kentmere Photographic products
Professional photographers, photo-educators and photography enthusiasts in
Canada will soon find it easier than ever to purchase high-quality, high
performance analogue photography and inkjet media products. It comes as HARMAN
technology Limited - one of the world’s leading photo-imaging specialists -
announces a major overhaul of its Canadian distribution arrangements.
The innovative manufacturer has long supplied its ILFORD PHOTO brand of
monochrome products, which include films, papers and chemistry, as well as its
HARMAN PHOTO range of professional inkjet papers to customers in Canada via
Wynit who are based in the United States. However, highlighting the strength of
its on-going commitment to the Canadian market and in order to offer users in
the country increased responsiveness and shorter delivery times, HARMAN
technology has appointed Amplis Foto Inc. to take over its Canadian distribution
from 1st April 2008.
With its head office in Ontario, Amplis Foto is perfectly placed to take on this
new role. A family owned marketing and distribution company, it has over 20
years’ experience of serving photographers, videographers and the motion picture
and television industry. It also benefits from a nationwide network of some 600
authorized dealers who are able to offer customers products from over 20
globally recognized brands including Kentmere, HARMAN technology’s other
monochrome brand.
By bringing all of its brands ‘under one roof’ with Amplis, HARMAN hopes to give
Canadian customers the convenience of being able to purchase all of its products
from a single source. Additional benefits to the new partnership also include
the fact that Amplis is able to offer free delivery, access to French Canadian
speaking staff and has warehousing in Canada - helping to ensure increased
product availability.
Plus, the company has a seven strong team of sales representatives covering the
country. This will be bolstered by Linda Eyskoot and Terry Bevens who previously
worked for HARMAN in Canada but who will now join Amplis with specific
responsibility for selling HARMAN technology brands.
Speaking of the new arrangement, Phil Nielsen, Sales Manager for Amplis Foto
said: “We are delighted to be working with HARMAN technology and its associated
brands. We pride ourselves on offering products from manufacturers who lead the
way in terms of innovation, reliability, durability and versatility and HARMAN
certainly fits with that ethos. The new partnership will also enable us to offer
our customers an even wider choice of high quality photography and inkjet
products making us the perfect supplier, whatever their need.”
Meanwhile, Steven Brierley, HARMAN’s Sales Director for North America and Canada
said: “Wynit has done an exceptional job distributing HARMAN products in the US
where they will continue to provide HARMAN distribution. However, it makes sense
for us to now work with a more localized distributor for the Canadian market in
order to shorten delivery times and increase availability.
We began talks with Amplis following extensive recommendations. We are sure it
is set to be a highly beneficial partnership for both companies and even more
importantly, for our customers in Canada.”
