Lyson offer evaluation print

04/06/08

The giant American multi-national, Nazdar, is today the largest independent manufacturer of professional photographic inksets and inkjet media coatings with its Lyson brand. All Lyson products are developed, tested and manufactured in their UK laboratories and plant in Stockport, Cheshire.

John Read, MD of Marrutt, the UK distributor of Lyson inks and media, said: “What sets Lyson products apart from other third-party inks is that Nazdar is prepared to underwrite all their inksets with a full ink manufacturer’s warranty and the fact that all their photographic inks are produced in the UK. Nazdar had a large team of chemists and technicians, who, guided by selected photographic Beta testers, create inksets which are specifically geared to the needs of professional photographers. We have almost 20,000 Lyson users on our UK database alone.”

Dr Malcolm Kay, Nazdar’s Technical Director said, “By ensuring all our primary inkset colours are pure in colour tone and easily adjusted for density, we feel that we have achieved a truly professional standard, with a better clarity within coloured shadow areas, while retaining excellent monochrome ability. To ensure that each inkjet printer produces as smooth a colour and mono response curve as possible, we supply a free high-end laboratory custom printer profile for a photographer’s favourite Lyson inkjet paper.”

You can independently test and compare your own printing performance against the Lyson professional standard. Simply e-mail to: digital@marrutt.com. You will have an evaluation print posted to you together with a link, which allows you to download the identical RGB JPEG image for you to print out for comparison.

Photo Quote: Memory is very important, the memory of each photo taken, flowing at the same speed as the event. During the work, you have to be sure that you haven't left any holes, that you've captured everything, because afterwards it will be too late. - Henri Cartier Bresson
