Olympus TOUGH TG-810 wins all-weather EISA Award

TOUGH range celebrates for second year in a row

Olympus TOUGH cameras just keep getting tougher, and keep winning prizes. The latest accolade is the European All-Weather Camera of the Year 2011-2012, awarded by EISA to the Olympus TOUGH TG-810. Building on the success of the previous TOUGH flagship at the same awards last year, the Olympus TOUGH TG-810 takes toughness to record-breaking heights. Water-, shock -,scratch- and crushproof*, it is the ultimate indestructible compact camera.

OLYMPUS TOUGH TG-810:
“European All-Weather Camera of the year 2011-2012” As the EISA jury noted, the TG-810 combines amazing robustness with excellent High Definition movie and still photo capability. “The stainless steel OLYMPUS TOUGH TG-810 is a water-, crush- and shockproof camera that is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts as well as for families,” confirmed the jury. “Although its rugged build is the principal feature of the camera, it also delivers good picture quality. With a 14-million-pixel sensor and a 5x zoom lens (28-140mm**), it is suitable for almost every situation.”

Unique in the category
Miquel Àngel Garcia, Managing Director of Olympus’ Consumer Product Division, was delighted with the award. “The outstanding success of the Olympus TOUGH TG-810 confirms the unique qualities that TOUGH cameras offer our customers,” he said. “In particular, the peace of mind that their camera can capture their memories in excellent quality and keep them safe.” Crushproof* to a weight of 100kg, the TG-810 is waterproof* to a depth of 10m, shockproof* to a height of 2m, freezeproof* to -10°C and scratch resistant to an unprecedented degree.

“The camera is easy to operate in both very bright and dark conditions thanks to the clarity of the 3-inch LCD screen, and the Super Macro mode
allows you to take pictures just 3cm from the subject – above and underwater,” said the EISA jury. “A dual-mode digital image stabilisation
system makes sure that pictures appear sharp even in low light and when you are shooting a moving subject.”
