Reliable and fl exible radio camera release and fl ash synchronization for worldwide use.
Profoto, the world’s leading manufacturer of professional photography
lighting and light shaping tools is proud to introduce a serious
expansion of the Air radio system.
The Profoto Air system was introduced in autumn 2008 together with the
state-of-the-art Pro-8a fl ash generators. Today this system offers
radio remote and/or fl ash synchronization with a wide range of Profoto
products, including D1 monolights, Pro-B3 battery fl ash generators
and even continuous light sources like the new ProDaylight’s. Other
manufacturers like Hensel (fl ashes) and Phase One (cameras) have
implemented the wireless functionality of the Profoto Air system in to their
latest products.
With externally connected Air Sync or Air Remote transceivers it is possible to
synchronize almost any fl ash equipment without integrated
Air functionality. Sync cables are available for most speedlights, monolights
and fl ash generators on the market. The ultra-short delay of the
Air units allows the shortest sync times of actual cameras available (down to
1/1600s depending on camera).
Profoto Air Remote and Air Sync transceivers are both small and lightweight, not
only being “just” versatile fl ash sync devices; they are
perfect radio release units for over 130 different models of DSLR cameras as
well! Especially sports, wildlife and press photographers need a safe, wireless
camera release system for many applications. Profoto Air transceivers have a
wide working range up to 300m and an extremely short delay time. The Air system
works on 2.4GHz frequency for international use - perfect for traveling
photographers. Two standard AAA batteries guarantee long operation times, on top
it is possible to deactivate the battery save function for a longer stand-by.
Profoto has just improved the fi rmware and the hardware of the Air Sync and Air
Remote transceivers for optimized camera release
functionality. Together with this improvement Profoto offers new camera release
cables for most actual DSLR cameras. Some of the cables
offer a pre-release function to shorten the delay time even further, especially
for cameras used in AF mode.
Customers needing a standard cable release can connect the Air cables to a new
optional, ergonomic remote switch that offers a bulb
function.
The Profoto Air system is the ideal radio camera release and fl ash sync system,
which works with a wide range of actual cameras and
fl ashes. It is reliable and easy to use – like all Profoto products.

Photo Quote: The magic of photography is metaphysical. What you see in the photograph isn't what you saw at the time. The real skill of photography is organized visual lying. - Terence Donovan
