 Gordon Jovic wedding picture

There aren’t too many wedding photographers across the planet who can offer
outstanding innovation in the genre across traditional, contemporary and reportage
shooting styles and all the following cultures: Christian, Asian, Buddhist, Muslim,
Jewish, Greek Orthodox, Hindu, Unitarian, and Humanist.

And yet the Jovic photo-journey in Kellyville, near Sydney, started more by
coincidence than plan.

When his ‘hobbyist’ camera was stolen six years ago Gordon went out and invested a
full month’s wages on a new DSLR.

He took it home and started taking pictures of his own children. And when everyone
he showed them to gave him extremely positive feedback, he decided to dive in at
the deep end and turn professional. Overnight.

Gordon had minimal experience – just a short time on a photographic
course and a long time surfi ng websites for images he liked.

He admits: “I am completely self-taught and from Day One I just shot all my
weddings instinctively. Initially it was all reportage-style capture but over
time I worked on visualising shots in my mind – and then just made them
happen. I am a firm believer in turning fomenting ideas for shots into real
images.”

Every wedding is meticulously thought out ahead of time.
All the marketing, appointments planning and general paperwork is
handled by Gordon’s wife, and an assistant attends every commission to
deal with the minutiae; watching over the camera kit, handing out lenses
and accessories etc.
