United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 07 May, 2007: Canon today launches two new additions to its SELPHY range of ultra-compact photo printers.
The SELPHY CP750 and entry-level SELPHY CP740 – replacing the popular SELPHY CP730 and SELPHY CP720 respectively – introduce Red-Eye Correction to the CP series for the first time. Larger LCD screens, improved skin tone reproduction and new printing modes come as standard on both models. The SELPHY CP750 also features additional My Colors photo effects and IrSimple compatibility for infra-red printing from mobile devices.
The SELPHY CP740 and SELPHY CP750 will be available from May, priced at £79 / €116 RRP inc. VAT and £139 / €204 RRP inc. VAT respectively.
The SELPHY CP750 and SELPHY CP740 offer:
Perfect Prints
The dye-sublimation printing process of the new SELPHY CP750 and
SELPHY CP740 delivers smooth, glossy prints that are free from
graininess. While each printed dot has up to 256 gradation (intensity)
levels per colour – allowing a total reproduction range of up to 16.8
million colours – the special, high-gloss protective layer added to each
print at the end of the printing process provides protection from
splashes, spills and fingerprints. Photographs are ready to handle as
soon as printing finishes.
SELPHY style
The stylish, modern designs of the SELPHY CP750 and the SELPHY CP740 fit
effortlessly into any contemporary home and, with a footprint smaller
than a sheet of A5 paper, either model can be used and stored even in
restricted spaces. A lightweight build and retractable USB cable also
make both the SELPHY CP750 and SELPHY CP740 ultra-portable: with the
addition of an optional battery pack, the SELPHY CP750 can be turned
into a take-anywhere portable printer.
Larger LCD for detail and ease
The new, larger LCD screens of the SELPHY CP750 and the SELPHY CP740 –
measuring 2.4” and 2.0” respectively – enable users to enjoy more
detailed previews of their work. Operated via the LCD screen, the user
interface has been improved: easy-to-see icons make it simple for every
member of the family to use either new SELPHY. Card reading and image
selection are even faster and more straightforward than before, while
the user interface of the SELPHY CP750 offers advanced, precise image
trimming.
Enhance and adjust
Automatic Red-Eye Correction can be activated at the touch of a button: the most convenient way to eliminate the unwanted effects of flash photography from pictures. Skin Tone optimisation enhances flesh tones, providing greater realism in print.
With the SELPHY CP750, Canon’s My Colors feature allows users to add colour effects – such as Black & White or Sepia – to images before printing. The addition of a new ‘Positive Film’ option provides a way for users to recapture the classic feeling of slide film in their prints.
Print from camera or card
A full range of printing options is available. With PictBridge direct
printing, a camera can be easily connected to either printer: an
integrated USB cable has been made longer than on predecessor models,
for greater ease of use. Alternatively, printing from virtually any
memory card is easy. Both printers offer support for the latest formats,
including MMCplus, MMCmobile, microSD, microSDHC and MMCmicro. For users
wishing to print from a mobile device, the SELPHY CP750 offers support
for high-speed IrSimple and IrDA transfer; alternatively, an optional
Bluetooth adaptor is available for both models.

Convention testimonials Just want to thank you for the amazing SWPP convention. Even though I could only visit yesterday (15th) I had a great time and was great to focus on my business and what I want to achieve both short term and long term and to think of the area that I need to develop my skills in.
