Talk Synopsis

After photographing her first wedding in 2006 Lisa has gone on to build a business that now provides the sole income for both her and her husband Phill.

In this informative day Lisa will talk candidly about the business planning, marketing and personal skills that have enabled her to build the business whilst developing her own photographic skills that have seen her win numerous awards including Gold Awards in portrait, wedding, pictorial and fine art photography as well as Fashion & Glamour photographer of the year, portrait photographer of the Year and overall photographer of the year from the MPA (Wessex)

Starting and building a photography business (09:00-13:00)

The morning will concentrate on the business skills to help you plan and build your business, the importance of a business plan that YOU understand and can work to. How to monitor your business on a monthly basis to make sure that there are no nasty surprises at the end of the year. Lisa will also cover marketing and will bring samples of the marketing materials sent to clients and handed out at wedding fairs.

All about the wedding (13:30-17:30)

The afternoon session will concentrate on the actual wedding day, planning for it and dealing with the wide variety of people that you will encounter on the day. Lisa will cover the kit that she uses during the wedding and the reasons behind her choices. Lisa will also show her post wedding workflow and album design techniques.
