In the morning session we'll learn the essentials of Lifestyle Portrait Photography – how to attract the right clients and how to deliver a brilliant photoshoot with confidence.

Getting your message heard An overview of marketing methods for Lifestyle Photography
Identify your perfect clients Who are your clients? What do they look like? Where can you find them?
Establishing your business What is your brand? Why should people buy from you? What are your USPs?
Working with others Who has your clients? Co-operation is the key – tried and tested ideas for working in partnership with other businesses.
Equipment for portraits An overview of essential equipment and lens choice for Lifestyle portrait photography. Learn how to create beautiful portraits with the minimum of gear.
Telling stories Lifestyle portrait photography is all about story telling - you're not looking for one single image but a series of images to make up an album or multi-frame. Michael will give you lots of ideas and inspiration.
Planning a lifestyle portrait shoot How to structure a photo-shoot to get the best from your subjects and make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
Good light – Bad light Learning to 'see the light' will take you along way towards beautiful lifestyle portraits. Using a softbox or window light you'll learn how to identify the best light and where to position your subjects for best effect.
Modelling the face Watch how simple changes to the lighting can make a dramatic difference to the look of a portrait.
Using reflectors You will learn how to enhance your portraits by modifying the light quickly and easily using reflectors.
Location Location Applying the principles of 'Good Light Bad Light' you'll learn how to search out the best locations in your area,

Lifestyle Photoshoot – a live shoot. Sales and The Viewing - Afternoon Session (13:30-17:30)

In the afternoon session we'll concentrate on natural lifestyle photography on location. Then we'll look at effective sales techniques and learn how to sell the images after the shoot.

Real-life photo-shoot An location photo-shoot around the venue will give you experience of photographing people in everyday situations - helpful experience for lifestyle portraits or weddings.
To pose or not to pose You'll learn how to relax your portrait subjects and to 'pose' them in a flattering way.
Outdoor portrait photography Using natural daylight effectively. Learn how to direct the shoot and to pose your subjects in a controlled but natural way. Shooting techniques for different weather conditions and for low light situations.
Choosing backgrounds Learn the best kinds of natural and man-made backgrounds for lifestyle portrait photography.
Masculine and feminine poses See the difference between strong, masculine posing and delicate, feminine poses with simple adjustments to head and shoulders.
Posing couples Learn the best approach for photographing two people together - siblings or engaged couples for instance.
Varying your viewpoint Ideas for injecting variety into your photo-shoot that will make your photographs stand out and increase your sales.
Make it fun Tips and techniques for injecting fun into your photo-shoot. Happy subjects means better images and bigger sales.
