Venue special features: The Newton Hotel is a four star hotel, located 15 miles from Inverness and sits in over 20 acres of mature parkland. The Highland Conference Centre is a purpose built, air conditioned function suite which can accommodate weddings of up to 300 guests. The Highland Suite opens on to a paved veranda which overlooks a secluded garden and accommodation consists of 30 master rooms, 22 standard rooms, and 4 suites.
Venue History: The house and farm at Newton or Easter Newton as it was sometimes called, originally belonged to a branch of the Rose's of Kilravock, having been rebuilt in around 1650. The property had reverted to them on the failure of the line of John Rose of Newton, a Provost of Nairn, but was sold to Hugh Falconar a Respresentative of a family long connected with Nairn. After many years of Colonels, Lairds, Viscounts and Chancellors owning the Newton, The Newton was sold to the Ellis family and opened it's doors as a 1st class hotel in 1951.
