Local picturesque areas suitable for wedding photography: The small garden area by the Mill Stream provides a picturesque settin or photographs. Pictures taken from the garden to the rear of the building will have the colourful narrow boat marina as a back drop.
Venue special features: Historic Grade 2* Listed Building overlooking a colourful narrow boat marina with Mill workings as a centre piece.
Venue History: The current building was constructed in 1874 on a site of a Mill that dated back to the middle ages. The building was restored in 1968 and retains many original features.
Other information: The main function room is at first fllor level and can only be reached via a staircase.
Little Hallingbury Mill is situated between Bishp's Stortford and Harlow on the North Essex/Herts border only 5.4 miles from Stansted Airport and close to the M11 motorway and the London Liverpool St to Cambridge main line railway. The City of London is only 40-50 minutes away by car and train.

SHOES TO THE CAR
This tradition originated in England during the Tudor period. At that time, guests would throw shoes at the bride and groom as they left in their carriage. It was considered good luck if their carriage was hit. Today, more often than not, it is beverage cans that are tied to a couples car instead of shoes. It should also be noted that the English consider it good luck if it rains on their wedding day!
