Boudoir and Pinup for the Real Woman

Boudoir and Pinup for the Real Woman... by Sue Altenburg

As a working photographer in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years I've literally photographed thousands of everyday women who want to look like the women they see in magazines, TV and movies. Photographing women of all shapes, sizes and ages requires skill in clothing selection, posing and lighting to flatter every subject. For boudoir and pin up sessions my personal motto is "if it looks good show it-if it doesn't hide it". By choosing flattering outfits, corrective posing, lighting and strategic placement of props and fabrics you can make any subject appear thinner and more proportioned. During our day together I will use a live model to demonstrate my best selling poses in boudoir and pinup and lighting to accent the female form. Whether you are new to boudoir and pinup photography or just want to brush up your skills I'm sure you'll find some great information to take home!

Some of the topics we'll cover are:

  • Corrective posing to make every woman look their best

  • The lingerie primer-what every photographer should know

  • Fun with pinup-popular themes, styles and props

  • Use of props, clothing and fabrics to conceal trouble spots

  • Lighting to accent the female form.

  • Simple set building to create mood in your studio

  • Photoshop for boudoir and pinup: quick corrections, softening skin, use of special brushes and shapes for pinups

  • The psychology of selling to women

Featured Location Seminar - John Denton - Street Safari

Day: Wednesday 15th Jan 2014
Price: Members £160/Non-Members £240

This event has fast become a tradition at Convention and one of the 'must have' tickets. This is the third time we have run it and it sells out every time. Starting out in late afternoon you'll work in a range of beautiful, and not so beautiful, locations to create a variety of images that blend artificial light from flash with the city lights. You will also look at posing and styling the models to produce fantastic images.
