- Host to Chef of the Year Awards, Q Music Awards, FHM Awards, Brits Nominations Party, Pink Ribbon Awards. The Ballroom was used as a Bomb Shelter during WW2. If the Houses of Parliament and the Cabinet War Rooms were ever destroyed then the Ballroom would have been used as the emergency parliament during the war.

Venue History: -Designed by architect Henry Tanner (first architecture known for using a steel structure building with a Marmo- Faience (Mar-MO Fy-Ence) finish. This is a product mixed with cement which does not blacken) and completed between the years of 1924 and 1927 by Sir Bracwell Smith

-The Park Lane Hotel was completed in 1927 after 16 long years of construction. Building work started in 1911 but the group of Yorkshire Businessmen ran out of money and were also interrupted by the 1st World War.

-It was the first building structure in London to have a steel structure. While it lay half built it acquired the name The Birdcage.

-It is called The Park Lane Hotel even though it is now on Piccadilly because the hotel was situated alongside the old Park Lane. Park Lane, as we know it now is new.

-Until Sheraton bought the hotel in 1996 it was the last privately owned grand hotels of London. The Carr family (descendants of Sir Bracewell Smith) still owns a large part of Arsenal Football club.
