Event venue Pledgdon Barn is a stunning Elizabethan building with modern facilities, set in beautiful countryside on Essex/Hertfordshire border, 10 minutes from M11. Full of character, this barn is available for hire and is licensed for civil ceremonies. Accommodating up to 240 guests (150 guests for a sit-down meal), catering/drinks service facilities are available though clients are invited to provide the drinks as a cost-saving element.

Venue special features: The barn was created the year after Henry VIII died - and is full of character and beams. One big room - flat - wheelchair access throughout. Minstrels Gallery. Stage. We allow our brides and grooms to use the venue for setting up purposes, from 9-5 on the day BEFORE their event at no extra charge.There are 3 stations within an easy cab ride's distance. There is Stansted Airport 4 miles away.
Venue History: The barn has been used for threshing and corn storage for centuries and is set in picturesque farmland. Full history of this historic building is available upon request.
Other information: Excellent catering is available. Barn Services Ltd runs the location - and they have also run an outside catering co. for 30 years - so have the experience and credentials to ensure a smooth running and delicious event for you.
