The Old Manor :-
The Old Manor is a beautifully proportioned, Grade II* William & Mary house, which has been extensively and sympathetically restored. It provides magnificent, classically-designed rooms underpinned with the luxury and convenience of a modern infrastructure - i.e. there's a 21st century kitchen, the central heating works and there is plenty of hot water.
The manor itself dates back to the Norman Conquest and was granted to Richard De Redvers by William the Conqueror. With many royal and political connections - King James 1st, Earl of Huntingdon, Robert Walpole among others - it was most intimately connected with King George III and his children. Princesses, Mary, Sophia and Amelia frequently stayed at the house, as did the Duke of York and the Prince Regent’s only daughter, Princess Charlotte of Wales. The King's illegitimate grandson was raised at The Old Manor and, even today, one of the bedrooms is known as the Princess' suite.
Services Provided: Licensed for marriages, the beautiful function room (a nineteenth century addition) is perfect for a marriage service, wedding breakfast or disco, and accommodates 100+. Marquee extensions for larger parties and catering is available. The property sleeps up to 24 in 9 luxurious bedrooms, each with private bathroom and is surrounded by spectacular English country gardens.
