A 15th century hotel, located opposite Wells Cathedral. The Garden room, where the Civil Ceremonies are held, leads onto a walled garden. Can cater for 70 during the service; 100 seated guests and 150 for an evening reception.

There is an old English rhyme describing the practice which also mentions a sixpence in the brides shoe.
