Wedding services provided: A dedicated wedding planner will work with you to create the day you always dreamed of. The Devonshire Fell lends itself to exclusive use for weddings; providing a private country retreat for you and your guests. We offer a menu selector of delicious dishes for you to choose from, alternatively, our Head Chef would be delighted to create an individual menu or additional courses if you have something specific in mind.

Gardens or outside locations suitable for wedding photography...: The Duchess of Devonshire hails The Devonshire Fell as having the best views in Wharfedale. A stunning backdrop for photographs, The Devonshire Fell has one of those rare locations, perched on a hillside overlooking the river, the picturesque village of Burnsall and across to the hills of the Yorkshire Dales. Our guests never cease to be entranced by the stunning views.

Suitable locations inside the venue for wedding photography: Inside and you will find bright dynamic interiors that are in contrast to the traditional Edwardian exterior. Imagination has pushed the boundaries with the use of rich fabrics and bold bright colours. Soft squishy sofas, comfy armchairs, a huge wood burning stove and original contemporary art combine to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Local picturesque areas suitable for wedding photography: Situated in the heart of the Bolton Abbey Estate, there are endless possibilities for photographs; from the river in Burnsall to the stepping stones at Bolton Abbey. Photography at the Priory ruins can be arranged in advance at a fee.

Venue special features: The Devonshire Fell has so many special features, the location is unrivalled, and being able to hire the venue for exclusive use offers a wow factor that your guests will never forget! Perhaps the most important special feature is the friendliness of the team; General Manager Stephane Leyreloup has a warm enthusiasm and charming wit that will win over every member of your party.

Venue History: Originally built as a club for gentlemen mill owners, The Fell Hotel (as it was known) has long served local people and visitors to the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel was renamed The Devonshire Fell Hotel & Bistro when it was bought by the Trustees of the Chatsworth Estate on behalf of the family of The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire in December 1998, as a sister hotel to The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel in Bolton Abbey.

Having completely refurbished the property, which re-opened in July 1999, The Devonshire Fell is startlingly different from the original Fell Hotel, as indeed it is from anywhere else in the Yorkshire Dales.

The Duchess of Devonshire has chosen bright contemporary colours for the interiors - her imagination running amok and creating an exciting boutique hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. Guests enjoy The Devonshire Fell's trademark - spectacular views of the Yorkshire countryside.
