Wedding services provided: A full, bespoke wedding planning service tailored to the individual needs of each client. Menus are designed by the executive chef following lengthy discussions with the Bride and Groom and all the food is freshly prepared on site from locally sourced ingredients.
Gardens or outside locations suitable for wedding photography: Over 40 acres of gardens and open farmland are available for photographs in one of the most stunning locations in the UK.
Suitable locations inside the venue for wedding photography: The wealth of old brick and timberwork inside offer lots of nice photo locations inside should the weather be inclement.
Venue special features: The Venus is always totally exclusive to each client, so the day with their guests is totally uninterrupted and peaceful. Currently going through a full carbon survey, with the aim to be totally carbon neutral in the next few months. All of the electricity is 100% renewable, coming from the wind farms in Cornwall! Freshly prepared food is key at Wellington Barn. Everything possible is freshly made on site - from the bread to the ice cream, the team of chef hand prepare everything from high quality ingredients that are locally sourced.
Venue History: Originally used to house the Oxen that pulled the ploughs int he surrounding fields, Wellington Barn has stood on the same site for over 100 years. No-one can shed light as to when exactly it went up, but it does show on maps from 1881! 2005 saw a rethink, following the exit of most of the livestock from the farm and by May 2006, we had a stunning function venue. Further improvements have continued in the last 3 years and now Wellington Barn is a venue of the highest quality in every respect. Owned and run by the Maundrell Family who have been in Calstone for over 300 years, the friendly, family feel comes across very strongly.
