My greatest strengths: Being able to capture those moments when people are being completely themselves, and representing the essence of the individual. Intuitiveness and people skills, which help people to be relaxed around me, and also understand what the client wants delivered. I have been in photography: Over 10 years - working full time for just over 4 years. My wife Sally (who also trained in photography) has worked with me photographing weddings for the last two years. How I got started in photography: Whilst being a full time Dad to my three children, I developed my passion for taking photographs of friends, family, the children, our pets, local sports (especially cricket) and wildlife - just about everything! Friends and family would often ask me to photograph them, their children, and weddings. After being part-time semi-professional for about five years, and with several weddings' experience, I turned full-time professional when our youngest child went to nursery school. I now do between 30 and 40 weddings a year, and about 20 lifestyle portrait sessions a year. My photographic skills: I'm very relaxed and approachable. I'm discrete, and am more likely to stand back and observe than be "in your face". This means people (wedding guests, family members) are at ease and natural, so I get the most honest and true images. I love capturing delicate details and as much as action and movement. I absolutely love what I do, and I think this shows through my work. I hope my images speak for themselves. My personality: With my work, I'm extremely conscientious and dedicated. I love working with clients and am often gregarious and chatty when I meet people, but can be quite quiet when I work! I'm definitely relaxed and easy-going, but this is balanced with a seriousness about the service I provide to my clients. Geographic areas I cover: East Sussex, Brighton & Hove, West Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, London. I also frequently travel further afield - venues outside a 50 mile radius may involve travel expenses in some cases (this is negotiable). Venues I frequently attend: The wedding is special because of the couple and their guests, wherever it is held. A great venue is defined not only by the beauty of the surroundings, but also by the level of service from the staff. Some of those we have particularly enjoyed photographing include: Buxted Park, Alexander House Hotel, High Rocks, The Felbridge Hotel, Hever Castle, Wiston House, Great Ote Hall, Newick Park, Powder Mills Hotel, Eastlands Estate, Wakehurst Place. I found inspiration from: The clients I work with inspire me. Success in photography: I don't enter photography competitions Photographic training: I regularly undertake CPD training, which includes various courses and seminars (e.g. Mark Cleghorn, Lovegrove Consulting, Oliver Cameron Publishing, The Trained Eye) My interests outside photography: I love cricket - and play for my local club any weekend I don't have a wedding or portrait shoot! I also play football and enjoy running, taking part in 10k runs for charity. I'm very involved in supporting my kids' school, and spend as much time as possible with my family. Major events: Being a dad to our three children, and caring for and supporting our son who is autistic.
